Universal Access Features of Mac OS X and the iPad/iPhone

Description

Assistive technology has the potential to level the playing field and create dramatically different outcomes for students with disabilities, but only if teachers are aware of its availability and know how to use it effectively. The overall goal for the session will be to demonstrate the assistive technology features built into Apple’s OSX and the iOS operating system. Participants will also explore accommodations that can be provided to students with disabilities without the need to purchase additional equipment or software.

1. At the end of this session, participants will be able to locate the accessibility setting on the iPad/iPhone.
2. At the end of the session, participants will be able to locate the accessibility features of the Macintosh computer.
3. At the end of this session, participants will be able to implement 3 accessibility features of the Mac computer.
4. 3. At the end of this session, participants will be able to implement 3 accessibility features of the iPad or iPhone.
